Part 1 is all about travelling back home and settling in to everyday life. My sister and I decided it was time for us to make our long awaited journey together, back to the motherland – Uganda. We had booked out tickets 4 months in advance in the hope of catching a good deal for airfare. We had a good 4 months to mull over expectations and more. I think I was already in travel mode as I had been returning to Uganda every year since 2013, however it was Esther's first time to return to Uganda in over 10 years. Our first few days were spent in Entebbe, then we headed over to Kampala and on that same day attended a wedding.

Once in Kampala, we spent some more time catching up with friends and family. Of course Christmas was fast approaching, so we scouted for African print material in town to make outfits to wear for Christmas day, which would be spent in Gulu, Northern Uganda.

Christmas day was a quiet but sweet and simple one. We celebrated 3 additional birthdays, wishing a Happy Birthday to Jesus, Peace, Joy and Auntie Christine. Boxing day was a day of mild but fun adventure. We made out way to Pakwach for mini safari, Lunch and then Speedboat ride. A nice day out!

Grandma's Birthday celebration came around! She turned the big 80! We ate, danced, honored her and had a blast of a time while doing it. I tried my best to capture to day through this video. The next day we made our way back to Kampala as that very night we had to be at the airport so we could head back to London!

So, have a watch and let me know what you think.

Enjoy!
