3 MAC Lipsticks Perfect For Dark Skin
Here are 3 amazing lipsticks, which I consider perfect for dark skin. If you, however, are not dark skinned, do not feel excluded, these lipsticks will look fabulous on you too. The point I am trying to make, is that these lipsticks are great options for dark skinned women on the hunt for lipsticks that they can be sure will definitely suit them. It can often be difficult to find fitting tones for dark skin, but where there is a will, there is a way!
Let’s start with Double shot(above). This shade can be worn with ‘Chestnut’ or ‘Cork, both lip pencils by Mac, or Kiko’s 315 Precision lip pencil. Double shot has an ‘Amplified’ finish and gives great moisture. This was my first time trying an Amplified lipstick by mac and I can confidently say it was worth that try. Matte nude lipsticks can be difficult to work with, so the subtle creamy texture this lipstick provides is a major plus. Once blended with a lip pencil ‘Double Shot’ gives the lips body and shape. I’ve often found myself avoiding brave lipsticks that make my lips look too big, however with this nude, it compliments and enhances my lips in the best possible way.
I went into the MAC store looking for something matte and solid. The first lipstick I brought home reminded me too much of rebel (which I do love) so I had to take it back. I can’t remember its name, but the shade was essentially a matte version of Rebel. It was very nice, but to me there was no point in having the same lipstick with a different name and finish. Sin is a Matte and Solid lipstick, which is subtle at the same time. With every lipstick, I say you need to make sure your lips are primed/moisturised before applying. Be sure not to apply too much though, you don’t want to turn a matte lipstick into a lustre or amplified or satin for example. This is a mistake I make and explain in the video. Sin could be called a red or brown, it just depends on how you see it, or what you pair it with.
‘Fashion Revival’(below) is another Matte lipstick. It has quickly become a favourite of mine because of it’s bold personality and colour pay-off. If you’re looking for something you could dress up or down, ‘Fashion Revival’ is exactly that. You don’t have to worry about it being drying on the lips as a matte lipstick because it provides enough moisture.
